Ask whether the program is a boarding kennel with some training added, or a training program that also boards. Both exist, and the difference shows up in how much of the day is spent actually working with your dog.
Because many Lakeway owners spend time on or near the water, ask whether swimming and boat manners are part of the goals. If they are not, tell the trainer you would like to cover them, or plan to teach them yourself afterward.
Lakeway City Park, a 64-acre park with a paved loop of just over a mile, was described by a local guide in 2014 as having a bark park. Confirm the current rules with the city before relying on it.
A stay commonly costs $1,500 to $2,500 or more. If your travel schedule is tight, ask about early drop-off, late pickup and any boarding-only days added to the price.
Finally, consider what happens when the stay ends. A calm return matters for any dog, but especially for one used to a busy house with visitors and boats. Ask the trainer for a plan for the first week at home, including how to introduce guests again.
Treat every figure as a general estimate. Trainer, dog and market all change the real price.
Board and Train Stays$1,500 to $2,500+ for 2 to 3 weeks→Private Lessons First$75 to $150 per lesson→Behavior Coaching$600 to $1,800 per program→Your next three moves.

Good questions
Before you begin.
Is boarding and training the same thing?
No. Boarding means care, while board and train adds daily lessons. Ask which one you are buying.
What about heat?
Ask how the trainer handles outdoor work on hot days, including shade, water and indoor options.
Can I extend the stay?
Ask about rates and whether the extra time is spent training or just boarding.
